The Farm Sanctuary in New York state was just that...a sanctuary for abused; neglected and mistreated farm animals. Some of the horror stories of these animals were hard to hear, mainly because I know it happens every day and most don't get the help they need. Farm animals are treated like things.....a commodity, nothing more. And with factory farming at an all time high there doesn't appear to be an end to the suffering any time soon.
These wonderful people are dedicated to the rescue and recuperation of farm animals. They are then allowed to live out their natural lives on the farm or if possible they are adopted out to farms.
Beautiful walk ways and areas to sit and enjoy the farm.

Mother and daughter spend all their time together...even sleep together. So sweet.
"The girls" all came running when they knew we were outside waiting to feed them grass! Nothing but food on their minds, eh? We were warned not to try to pet them because they really are all about the food. lol
